I hope you all have a wonderful mother's day. I'm a simple person. A great gift for me on Mother's Day is some peace and quiet, a Starbucks and a newspaper (and quiet time to read the paper). Last year I received a spa package from the Sanctuary Spa. My brothers and I pitched in and bought my mother a spa package for her since she's never been to one. Well...we booked a day in January of this year and I had an amazing time. As for my mother, she couldn't wait to go home. I guess being from the old school and not knowing how to relax, a spa day was not for her. She hated the hot tub (never been in one and found it too hot)she didn't like her massage (hated being touched) and she found it too time consuming! Hello! All she was thinking about was that I took her away from her housework and she had to get home in time to prepare dinner for my dad.
On the other hand, I didn't want to leave. I felt so relaxed and pampered the last thing on my mind was housework and cooking!
How generations have changed. My mom was bred to house keep and cook (which she loves to do) and I love to be pampered. Is it because I work fulltime, raise a family and maintain a home? Maybe my lifestyle is a bit on the stressful side and sometimes its nice to escape and relax for awhile.
I love the Sanctuary Spa and can't get enough. I always hint for a gift certificate around my birthday, Valentine's Day and Mother's Day.
The Sanctuary Spa has many locations in the Greater Toronto Area. Visit their website at http://www.sanctuarydayspas.com
